Download the 'Windows Mobile Device Center' ( current version is 6.1 ) - Install the downloaded software but it may not look like it worked on Windows 7 PCs. Vista automatically configured the settings on the bluetooth devices but for those who have Windows 7, here are the things you should do: - Go to 'Device Manager' from 'Control Panel' -Or- just right-click on Computer Icon and choose 'Properties' and then click on 'Device Manager'. You'll see an 'Unknown Device' named 'Bluetooth Peripheral Device' - Right-Click it and click on ' Update Driver Software ' -Or- anyway you find it easy to bring up the Update driver window.
Download Bluetooth device drivers or install DriverPack Solution software for driver scan and update.
Select 'Browse My Computer for Driver Software' button. Select 'Let Me Pick from a List of Device Drivers on my computer'. Select 'Bluetooth Radio' from the list if it asked you to select and then in the next window, it will show a list of drivers with Company Names in one list and Drivers in another. In the Company List choose 'Microsoft Corporation', not only Microsoft. From the drivers list there may be one or more drivers with the name ' Windows Mobile-Based Device Support ' with different driver versions. Select one or the latest.
Ignore any warnings and keep pressing next and then Finish at last. If all goes well, the last screen will show the message that device driver is successfully installed. Now, after manually updating the driver for your bluetooth device, in 'Device Manager' when you click on 'Bluetooth Radios', it should display one more item which will say 'Windows Mobile-based device support'. Which model laptop do you have not mentioned here but you have been using windows 7 pc. I am also using dell laptop windows 7 pc same like that. A few months back my Dell laptop got Bluetooth driver issue then I asked so many friends but they didn't give the correct answer.however, I also have searched on the internet and I found correct Bluetooth drivers on the driver basket website when I install the Bluetooth drivers then windows7 os got better performance. I would suggest to you I hope if you install the update on that website then you will get better performance.
I realize this is an old thread, but thought I'd add another fix here for someone else having this issue. I could pair my IBomb bluetooth speaker to my HP Elitebook 840 laptop, but was not able to use it as I kept getting the 'bluetooth peripheral device doesn't have a driver' error. I tried everything short of reinstlling the O/S. Installing the Windows Mobile Installer multiple times with no luck. Tried installing different versions of the Broadcom bluetooth drivers with no luck. Multiple reboots.was about to give up.
Then I stumbled onto this post: and noticed the 4th instruction that indicated there could be an Intel Bluetooth Card or a Broadcom card. I couldn't tell what card I had so I chose the Intel driver since none of the Broadcom drivers worked and voila, the speaker connected and was playing Here's the link to the Intel Driver. I have all of the problems listed above with Windows 7 Professional and a pair of Beats Otium Bluetooth headphones. I actually had it working, then, it stopped. I've deleted Broadcom drivers, Windows drivers, Lenovo drivers and reinstalled. I've paired with the headphones and hit properties and loaded all of the services.
Nothing, nothing seems to solve the current problem which is primarily the fact that there is NO Bluetooth Headphone Icon under the Sound area. I just did it again, no luck. The Otium used to have 'Control' when you right click on the icon which took me to the 'connect' page. At that point, it did not connect mostly because there was no way to select the Bluetooth Headset under Sound. Now, it doesn't give me the 'Control' icon - just disappeared. I was on the phone with Intel Support today for 3 hours.
They re-installed all of my Lenovo drivers, checked the hardware and everything passed. They stopped at the point of loading the Broadcom drivers which I installed, and like I said, it worked without connecting again because there was no icon under Sound to select the Bluetooth Headset. Today to score Zero! Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Hey guys, I just joined the forum because my head is about to explode after 4 hours of trying to pair my headset with my pc. I have almost the same problems as everyone. I downloaded lots of drivers until windows recognize properly my USB BT dongle and all the services of my headset (Philips SHB7150), but when I try to pair the headset to the pc, I click the 'listen to music' option and nothing happens. I've tried restarting the Services from services.msc.
I've run out of options,:/ and what is worse, sometimes the pc doesn't even recognize the headset and it keeps searching services forever. Hi, I have the same problem as many others. I just got Bluedio H-Turbine Bluetooth 4.1 Headphone. When I tried to connect to my smartphone it took 5 secs to get it to work perfectly. But when I try to connect to Desktop computer, nothing works. I spent about 4 hours looking for solution (many posted in this forum), but it solved only 50% of the problem. Part 1 (solved): Needed to manually download some drivers using Intel Driver Software tool.
Part (SOLVED: SKIP TO BOTTOM): Still no sound can be heard. Clicking 'Listen to Music' does nothing. (Devices and Printers Bluetooth Devices Services) Clicking 'Connect' on right Devices does nothing. (Speakers Playback devices) Additional info: 'Headset' Bluetooth service is turned on (disabled on default).
Bluetooth settings: I also rebooted the computer several times. SO I FOUND A SOLUTION. B) If the add-on Bluetooth adapter/dongle maker, or the PC-maker doesn't offer full-featured Bluetooth software for Windows 7, it is possible (not guaranteed) that the maker of the Bluetooth chips inside the adapter/dongle/PC does offer such full-featured Bluetooth software (but the maker of the adapter/dongle/PC didn't bother to test it and include it on their website). If so, you may be able to do the following: 1) On the Windows 7 PC, go into to the “Device Manager” (Start Menu/Control Panel/Device Manager) and expand “Bluetooth Radios”. You should see two items.
(Ignore the 2nd item which says something like Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator.) The first item should contain the name of the Bluetooth module, possibly with the name of the Bluetooth chipmaker (e.g. Broadcom, Cambridge Silicon Radio 'CSR', or Toshiba), but also possibly with just the module maker's name (e.g. Dell, or HP). If the chipmaker's name isn't apparent, then double-click on the icon, click on the 'Details' tab, and then select 'Manufacturer' from the 'Properties' drop down menu. The Bluetooth chipmaker's name should appear under 'Properties'.
If not, you're probably out of luck but you could surf around some of the other 'Properties' so see if you can get a hint at the Bluetooth chipmaker's name. 2) Go to the chipmaker’s website to download the latest driver.
For example, in the case of a Broadcom Bluetooth radio chip, download the Widcomm Bluetooth software from Broadcom’s website, 3) With the Bluetooth hardware adapter/dongle installed (if not built-in), install the chipmaker’s Bluetooth software. Once the Bluetooth software is installed, you should be able to pair and connect with the Bluetooth audio device in the normal manner (Start Menu/Devices and Printers/Add a device).
Note that in any case, once the driver is installed and the Bluetooth audio device is properly installed, paired, and connected, you may need to go into the audio properties of the PC (Start Menu/Control panel/Sound) and set the default audio playback device to be the Bluetooth headphones when listening through the Bluetooth audio device. When not listening through the Bluetooth audio device, the user will have to switch the default audio playback device back to the speakers.Link.
Problem/Symptoms:. LG Headphones showing 'connected' but not playing any music. Blue Tooth Headphones DO NOT SHOW UP IN THE DEVICE LIST WHEN YOU CLICK ON THE SPEAKER ICON IN THE TASK BAR- this should look like a pair of headphones. On my Laptop I could see a TV and Speaker Icon. Nothing for the Blue Tooth Headset. Handfuls of hair appear around the keyboard Ok I tried installing and uninstalling the headphones according to what allot people suggested I am grateful that information I can now do that blind folded suspended over a pit of cobras.
What was always consistent along with my Blue Tooth Headphones not working 'while connected' was that I never could see it showing up as a playback device when you click on the speaker icon on the task bar. Which for me was the key to getting this to work. So: Getting the Blue Tooth Devices to show up in the Speaker Menu in the Task Bar when you click on it:. Hover the mouse over the Speaker Icon on the Task Bar. 'Right Click' on the Speaker Icon in the task bar. Do Not directly click on it. 'right click' over it and a 'Right Click Speaker Menu' shows up with 'Open Volume Mixer' showing up at the top of the list.
On this menu, 'CLICK'on ' Playback Devices' and yet another popup menu will show you all the playback devices with a light blue volume bar on the right. VERY IMPORTANT EPIPHANY ACTION: 'Right Click' anywhere on this menu and TWO-LINE MENU with CHECK BOXES WILL ASK YOU to. 'Show Disabled and Disconnected Devices'. Check both boxes. The blue tooth headphones (or other devices I guess) will now show up in the Speaker Menu as 'grayed out head phones'.
Click on these guys in the Play Back Menu and ENABLE THEM. Reconnect your headphones and your cool shit should work. I went back an unchecked these boxes and whatever devices are disabled and disconnected they will not show up unless you check them in line 4. Whats totally FU'p is that even though they are hidden and disabled. They will show up as connected when you pull up the BlueTooth Connection menus.
So you thinks its some kind of weird driver problem, when all the time they have been Disabled and Hidden from the Speaker Menu. So for me this was not a driver/software issue its just a settings issue coupled with a display issue. Hope this works, may all your days be peaceful and your coffee cheap. Problem/Symptoms:.
